Our
Story

My name is James and I founded Reforge Fitness Equipment back in November 2023. I have been developing it slowly but have decided to do it full time in March 2026.

I have always been a sporty person from a very young age and growing up, developed a passion for all things Mechanical Design.

I studied Mechanical Engineering for my Bachelors degree and completed my Masters in Mechanical Engineering Design back in 2013.

I gained a big passion for weightlifting throughout University and have continued ever since and in 2017 I qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer.

I'm incredibly mechanically minded which has led me to renovate my own houses from bathroom installs, kitchen installs and general DIY. I also fix my own cars and motorbikes.

I developed a few nutrition apps with a friend as a way to turn my personal Excel macronutrient and calorie tracking app into something more portable and eventually realised that software programming wasn't a strong point of mine :D

It was during COVID-19 when I was working out at home that I started researching gym equipment and found that good quality, UK based, compact gym equipment was hard to find and started coming up with a few ideas then.

As I developed, I had an opportunity to gain Chartership status and became a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE in 2020.

I worked in Agricultural engineering for a bit where I gained a deep appreciation and interest in heavy engineering and fabrication which only added more fuel to the fire for me to pursue my own fitness equipment design and fabrication company.

In late 2023, I setup Reforge Fitness Equipment and started getting my ideas down on paper and testing out various concepts.

In early 2026 an opportunity arose for me to pursue the business full time.

Our
Mission

Our mission to to help you maximise your time and space with our compact and multi-function gym equipment.

Home gyms

Time is a commodity that you can't get back but, you can maximise the time you do have with a home gym.

In the UK, home gyms typically get setup in a garage and garages seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Our equipment is designed and tested with these kinds of spaces in mind.

Small gyms

Owning your own gym is amazing but, floor space is expensive and the larger the space you rent, the more ongoing cost you have. Our gym equipment is designed to maximise the utilisation of the space you have available; less equipment with more functionality.

Developing as a gym user and gym owner

Our ethos is "your equipment grows as you grow". What this means is that we focus on modularisation and attachments. You may start off no knowing exactly what you want / need so start off with the basics then purchase more equipment as you develop your training methods or business.
